Congratulations! Bea Patricia Magtanong, is Miss International Philippines 2019

Bea Patricia de Guzman Magtanong, popularly known as Patch Magtanong, is a Filipino lawyer, beauty queen and fashion model who was crowned 2019 Binibining Pilipinas International. Accordingly, Magtanong will represent the Philippines at the Miss International 2019 competition on 12 November 2019 in Tokyo, Japan.

For Patch, pageantry was in a way, more challenging than law school.

"In law school, you study and you get good grades. Here, we all know there’s so much more. It has so many factors. You have to think about what you say, how you look, how you stand, how you dress,” she said in an interview with ABS-CBN after the coronation.


At any rate, it was another dream fulfilled for the 24-year-old, who in the last few years has been steadily hitting one goal after another.

In July 2014, she graduated cum laude with a degree in Business Economics from the University of the Philippines (UP), fulfilling her "lifelong dream to wear a sablay."

The society of our dreams cannot materialise if it future (the indigent child and youth) are not properly trained, inspired and equipped.

The project is not just about health, education and social life but also on treating the emotional,mental challenges and ills faced by children and youths.

The #59thMissInternational will be chosen on November 12th at the Tokyo Dome City Hall. Here is a #throwbackthursday treat from last year's memorable activities with the 77 delegates!

The #MissInternational2019 pageant activities will start on October 25. More than 80 accomplished and single ladies aged 18 to 27 from all over the world will vie for the coveted title. They will spend nearly three weeks of cultural immersions and tours, as well as tasting the delicious Japanese cuisine!

JETRO Hokkaido will be bringing back to Japan the Top 5 winners of the 2018 Miss International pageant, headed by Mariem Velazco of Venezuela. They will be joined by 14 other delegates and Miss International 2008, Alejandra Andreu of Spain.

As social media influencers, the 20 lovely invited guests will be promoting Hokkaido as a tourist and industrial destination. They will arrive in Obihiro town on February 5th. Highlight of the activities will be their attendance at the 70th Sapporo Snow Festival on February 7th.

Hokkaido was badly heat by a powerful earthquake last September 2018 which adversely affected most of their industries, and had destroyed livelihoods.

This will be the first time in history that a charity activity of this capacity is being done with Miss International delegates post-pageant period. In 2009, the Miss International Organization also got involved in earthquake relief operations and fund raising actvities in Chengdu, China.

 who is a math wizard and a Geophysics Engineering major, believes in the power of reading books, a belief which was passed on by her parents (father is a lawyer and mother is a dentist) to her and her sister.


Soon, Mariem will be flying to Hokkaido, Japan for an industrial tour and attendance at the world famous Sapporo Snow Festival from Feb 5 to 8!

Visiting the most sacred shrine in Japan, the Ise Jingu in Mie Prefecture

In Japan, a shrine is considered to be a sacred place where the gods dwell. Nature and everything that surround us can be a place where the gods live. This tree is believed to be nearly 600 years old. Our newly crowned Miss International 2018, Mariem Velazco, did not miss the opportunity to appreciate the power of the cedar tree inside the Ise Jingu property.

The Ise Jingu is considered as Japan's most sacred shrine. Believers have to make a pilgrimage into the shrine at least once their lifetime.

Since 2015, the Top 5 winners of Miss International have visited Ise Jingu, praying for a bountiful year ahead and more success in achieving each one's dream.

Mariem Velazco of Venezuela is the new Miss International 2018

TOKYO, JAPAN - Venezuela reasserted its powerhouse status in beauty pageants after winning its eight Miss International crown on November 9.

Mariem Velazco, who was celebrating her birthday, was crowned Miss International 2018 by outgoing queen Kevin Lilliana. She bested 76 other delegates for the title. The finals was held at the Tokyo Dome City Hall.

Maria Ahtisa Manalo of the Philippines settled for first runner-up, while South Africa's Reabetswe Sechoaro placed second runner-up. Romania's Bianca Tirsin and Colombia's Anabella Castro Sierra were third and fourth runners-up, respectively.

Venezuela now holds the record of most wins in Miss International at eight. Previous winners were Nina Sicilia (1985), Consuelo Adler (1997), Vivian Urdaneta (2000), Goizeder Azúa (2003), Daniela di Giacomo (2006), Elizabeth Mosquera (2010), and Edymar Martínez (2015).
